How Much Gravel Do I Need?

How Deep Should Gravel Be for a Driveway?
Depth is the most important factor in gravel driveway longevity. Too shallow and the gravel washes away or ruts under tire pressure. Too deep and you waste money on material that never compacts properly.
- Light foot traffic (paths, patios): 2–3 inches. Enough for stability without excess material.
